John Worshiped an Angel? | The Danger of Misplaced Worship

In the closing chapter of Revelation, John falls at the feet of an angel to worship—and immediately hears the rebuke, “See thou do it not…worship God.” If John could allow his worship to become misplaced, we should carefully examine our own hearts. Idolatry is not limited to statues and false religions. Anything—even something good—that takes the place in our heart belonging to God can become an idol. Revelation's simple command calls us back to the heart of true worship: Worship God.
