The Local, New Testament Church

By Pastor Bill Monroe ·

About this sermon

What did Jesus mean when He said, “I will build my church”? The New Testament church is not a building or denomination. It is a local assembly of born-again, baptized believers committed to biblical doctrine, governed by God's Word, and commissioned to carry the Gospel into the world. In this message we return to the fundamentals: what the church is, who makes up its membership, why it exists, and what makes it strong. Above everything else stands one truth—Jesus Christ is the Head of His church.
