Sustaining Grace
–21 We need grace after salvation just as much as we needed grace before salvation. The Christian life is a daily battle between the spirit and the flesh. We need God's sanctifying grace to give us both the desire and the ability to do His will and to mold us into the likeness of Jesus Christ. We also face suffering—grief, sickness, fear, family burdens, disappointment and trials we cannot overcome in our own strength. In those moments, we need the sustaining grace of God. Paul heard the Lord say, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” That same grace is sufficient for us. The Book of Revelation closes with grace. So does our journey through it.
